Every Skin is different, so does “Face Primers” should be!

Whenever we talk about building an empire, a house or a makeup look. Everything has one thing in common and, i.e. “A strong base”. Just like a strong base holds on the whole building, in the same way, a smooth and good base will help you in keeping your makeup intact too.

A face primer is that “strong base” for your creative to long-lasting looks. No woman! Absolutely no woman in this world wants her makeup to fade out, which she spent hours in creating. The joy of applying makeup and creating a fantastic look is something every woman wants to achieve.

But is that one thing that shatters the whole look and leaves you looking like crazy is not choosing that right primer for your skin type. So today we gonna talk about the primer “The strong base” for your skin type so that you rock that look without being worried about your makeup. Because if the base is strong, everything stays strong.

First of all, understanding, your skin type is the first step for any beauty routine or products. There are five types of facial skin that we categorise in the beauty industry.

  • Normal Skin
  • Oily Skin
  • Dry Skin
  • Combination Skin
  • Sensitive Skin

Understanding your skin type is the first step of taking care of your skin and makeup. Today I am gonna talk a little bit about each skin type and how you can choose your product that you can add in your vanity according to your skin type.

TYPE 1 – NORMAL SKIN

This is the skin type that people die for. Its a well-balanced skin with balanced oil and hydration of the skin. You can choose a primer that is sweat proof. “Colorbar Perfect Match Primer” is a perfect silicon based primer, that can help you in achieving that flawless makeup look.

TYPE 2 – OILY SKIN

This is the type of skin that generates an excess amount of oil beneath your skin. Not only it makes your skin look greasy, but you also tend to clog the pores of your skin with excess oil, which can lead to acne and blackheads. It is recommended to wash your face multiple times in a day as it will help in removing the excess oil from your skin. Also, do not think that your skin doesn’t need hydration, it is recommended to moisturise your skin before going to sleep, as the excess oil blocks your pores and give an illusion that your skin is moisturised which is not valid. For this type of skin, I would recommend “M.A.C Prep + Prime Fix+ Mate Vaporisateur Matifiant” A lightweight mattifying spray that refreshes skin while instantly controlling shine and oil on the surface without disturbing makeup. The innovative formula contains powders, silica and other oil-absorbing agents to help set makeup, rebalance and mattify skin.

TYPE 3-  DRY SKIN

Dry skin is usually caused by the various factors it depends upon your water drinking habits, climate changes, chlorinated pools, a job that require you to work in the fields. This type of skin requires more than a primer to achieve the mattifying or the glowing look. One needs to properly moisturise the skin with a good moisturiser or would recommend the essential oil too. “M.A.C Prep + Prime Moisture Infusion” is a lightweight serum that saturates the skin with a concentrated boost of hydration, making it a unique hybrid between skincare and priming. Gently soothes, revives and replenishes the skin while preparing it for the foundation.

TYPE 4- COMBINATION SKIN

Okay, so honestly this is my skin type. The “T-Zones” (Forehead, nose and chin) tends to get oily, and the other part of the face tends to get dry or normal. If you notice that your makeup starts to look greasy after a while on these three areas of the face. Then you tend to have combination skin. I have this skin type and trust me nothing gets me more irritated when makeup starts giving that extra glow, that I actually don’t need on my matte look. I have been using “Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Face Primer” The POREfessional Face Primer PRO Balm helps in minimising the appearance of pores & fine lines. You can apply this silky, lightweight balm alone, under or over makeup. The translucent, oil-free formula helps in the stay of your makeup for longer.

TYPE 5- SENSITIVE SKIN

Sensitive skin is referred to as the skin type, which can easily irritate, allergize with anything that is not meant for it. I always recommended consulting dermatologists as skin is the largest organ of our body. It needs to be taken care of as seriously any other health problem. Nowadays a lot of dermatologists are there who can help you by recommending products are dermatology testes. “Clinique” is one brand which is dermatology tested and works like a miracle. Also, sensitive skin type should avoid any kind of fragrance in the product they use. It can cause irritation to the skin.

These are few primers that can be used according to your skin types. But as I always say, every skin type is different, and it is based on your lifestyle, the environment you live in, sleeping pattern and your genes. Do not hesitate to mention your favourite primer according to your skin type in the comments below. Would love to try!
